Depending on the usage environment and frequency: If the usage environment is dusty or the humidifier is frequently used, it is recommended to clean the filter screen at least once a week. If the usage environment is relatively clean and the frequency of use is low, it can be cleaned every 2-3 weeks.
Clean promptly when there are signs of blockage: When the mist output of the humidifier significantly decreases, the humidification effect deteriorates, or there is obvious dust and dirt accumulation on the filter screen, clean immediately.
2.Cleaning methods
General cleaning: When cleaning, first unplug the power plug of the humidifier, then remove the filter screen, gently brush off the dust on the surface with a soft bristled brush, and then rinse the filter screen under flowing water. The water flow should not be too large to avoid damaging the filter screen. If there are stubborn stains on the filter screen, a mild neutral cleaner can be used. Dip a soft cloth in a small amount of the cleaner and gently wipe it off, then rinse it off with clean water.
Deep cleaning: Deep cleaning can be performed at regular intervals (such as once a month). Soak the filter in warm water containing an appropriate amount of white vinegar or specialized cleaning solution for 15-30 minutes to effectively remove scale, bacteria, and other stubborn stains. After soaking, rinse thoroughly with clean water to ensure there is no residue of cleaning agent.
3.Drying and Storage
Thoroughly dry: After cleaning, the filter should be placed in a well ventilated place to air dry naturally, avoiding direct sunlight, as the ultraviolet rays in sunlight may cause the filter material to age. Ensure that the filter screen is completely dry before reinstalling the humidifier to prevent the growth of bacteria and mold in the damp filter screen, which can affect air quality.
Proper storage: If the humidifier is not in use temporarily, the filter should be removed, cleaned and dried, and stored properly. It can be placed in a clean plastic bag or storage box, in a dry and cool place to prevent dust and debris from contaminating it again.
4.Inspection and replacement
Regular inspection: Every time the filter is cleaned, it should be carefully checked for any damage, deformation, or severe blockage. If the filter screen is damaged, it will affect the filtering effect, causing impurities to enter the inside of the humidifier, and even possibly dissipate into the air with water vapor, affecting health.
Timely replacement: Generally speaking, the service life of the humidifier filter is about 3-6 months, depending on the usage situation. If it is found that the filter screen still cannot restore good filtering effect after multiple cleaning, or has suffered serious damage, it is necessary to replace the filter screen in a timely manner to ensure the normal operation and humidification effect of the humidifier.
